Hello carbon tax friends: Let me be honest in saying that working on carbon pricing over the past two decades has often felt like banging my head against the wall. But lately it’s been feeling more like riding a wave, and that’s an amazing feeling. I’ve actually had one surfing lesson in my life, and I remember it involving an exhausting amount of paddling to get out to the right spot, and then an adrenaline rush of being swept into shore (and of course being toppled into the water rather sooner than I would have liked!). In any case, if you want to help with the paddling then there are lots of ways to get involved (including events coming up in Spokane, Olympia, and Vancouver, plus terrific signature-gathering options everywhere) and if you want to just ride the wave then check out the terrific readings and developments below! more

Hello carbon tax friends: We had a good May (details below, plus new members of the 250 Club) and are looking forward to an even better June because of millions of signature-gathering opportunities for volunteers plus our signature-gathering job posting aimed at high school or college students looking for a summer job working on carbon taxesmore

Hello carbon tax friends: Today is the last day to postmark or otherwise turn in your May signature pages—we’ll have totals at the end of the week—and BTW last week we posted our signature-gathering job posting online but forgot to include the link in the email blast, so please share the job posting with high school and college students looking for a summer job working on carbon taxes! Read on for an analysis of How We Will Win—the executive summary is that we will win by building on British Columbia’s success story, by making climate a bipartisan issue, by telling the truth, by building the grassroots climate movement, by forcing the issue in the state legislature, and by taking advantage of a “can’t-miss opportunity” in 2016—but before delving into that let’s go over ways that you can help as we head into June! more
