Hello carbon tax friends: Three new developments as we round the home stretch of our push to 100,000 signatures by the end of Julymore

Hello carbon tax friends: The big news this week is that we are entering the home stretch of our push to 100,000 signatures by the end of July! Saturday August 1st is the last day to postmark or otherwise turn in your July signature pages to your local coordinator, or bring them by the office (1914 N 34th St, Suite 407), or mail them to us (CarbonWA; PO Box 85565; Seattle WA 98145-1565); we’ll announce the totals next week so fill up your sheets this week and send them in! And if you want a contest to motivate you, CarbonWA’s Seattle staff is embarking on an 8-hour “Amazing Signature Race” mission on Friday July 31st; there are great prizes for the most signatures collected from 9-5 and you can participate no matter where you are in the state as long as you follow the two rules: no cars or mopeds allowed, and you must change location every hour. (You can also follow updates on Twitter: @CarbonWA.) more

Hello carbon tax friends: It’s crunch time as we head towards our goal of 100,000 signatures by the end of the month, so like many of you I was out gathering signatures last week and didn’t send out a weekly email blast. (I will cap-and-trade it for some future week when we have big news :). This week’s update will also be short and sweet: more

Hello carbon tax friends: We’ve got our noses to the grindstone, pushing to reach 100k signatures by the end of the month (!), but in addition to asking for your help on that front here are some 250 Club updates and a handful of good readings and more fabulous Tales from the Trails! more

Hello carbon tax friends: We’re halfway through the year and at a turning point for the campaign, so in addition to reporting on the June totals I’d like to provide a mid-year review of the campaign. more

Hello carbon tax friends: I hope you haven’t experienced the irony of “it’s too hot to gather signatures to fight climate change”… but regardless today is the last day to postmark or otherwise turn in your June signature pages. (We’ll have totals at the end of the week, and as detailed below you get an extra day thanks to the state legislature ? Read on for signature-gathering opportunities on the 4th of July and beyond, thank you for helping us meet our $10k matching challenge (!), and please continue to pass our job posting around to high school or college students looking for a summer job working on carbon taxesmore

Hello carbon tax friends: This week we’ve got great endorsements and great signature-gathering events, which is great because the end of June is in sight and we need your help to hit our signature targets… and our $10k matching challenge! more

Hello carbon tax friends: We expect to have another big endorsement to share with you next week, but this week we’ve got our noses to the grindstones, working hard and having fun (just like the Pope!). Read on for how you can help us hit our June signature target and meet a $10k matching challenge… plus the return of Tales from the Trails! more

Hello carbon tax friends: Let me be honest in saying that working on carbon pricing over the past two decades has often felt like banging my head against the wall. But lately it’s been feeling more like riding a wave, and that’s an amazing feeling. I’ve actually had one surfing lesson in my life, and I remember it involving an exhausting amount of paddling to get out to the right spot, and then an adrenaline rush of being swept into shore (and of course being toppled into the water rather sooner than I would have liked!). In any case, if you want to help with the paddling then there are lots of ways to get involved (including events coming up in Spokane, Olympia, and Vancouver, plus terrific signature-gathering options everywhere) and if you want to just ride the wave then check out the terrific readings and developments below! more

Hello carbon tax friends: We had a good May (details below, plus new members of the 250 Club) and are looking forward to an even better June because of millions of signature-gathering opportunities for volunteers plus our signature-gathering job posting aimed at high school or college students looking for a summer job working on carbon taxesmore
