Hello carbon tax friends:
Endorsements: I’m thrilled to announce that our CarbonWA campaign has received an endorsement from Citizens Climate Lobby, a terrific organization working on national fee-and-dividend legislation. There are 15 CCL chapters active or under development all around the state (in Spokane, Walla Walla, the Tri-Cities, Yakima, Ellensburg, Bellevue, Bothell, Seattle, Olympia, Jefferson County, Port Angeles, Port Orchard, Bainbridge Island, Whidbey Island, and Bellingham!) so please consider joining their national effort… and CCL folks we look forward to learning from you and working with you on state-level carbon taxes! (Email me or Duncan Clauson at email@example.com if you’re not already in touch with us.)
Thursday outreach meeting in Seattle: Ben Silesky (firstname.lastname@example.org) has already invited folks who have expressed an interest in volunteering to tomorrow outreach meeting, but it’s open to everyone and is also on Facebook: It’s from 7 to 8:30 pm on Th Oct 16 at Big Time Brewery (4133 University Way NE). “This will be for anyone who wants to hang out, learn more about the policy, get hard copies of important materials, and most crucially, get trained to be an effective organizer for the campaign.”
Winter deliverables: Last time we reported on our summer deliverables, and we’re now in the process of finalizing our winter deliverables. Stay tuned for more as we head towards signature-gathering in March-December of 2015. You can help by testing and commenting on the carbon tax swap calculator, by pledging to collect signatures or by making a donation (even a recurring monthly donation if you want!). As always, comments welcome on this blog or via Facebook and Twitter!
