The Will to Win…

We put this quote up on our wall when we moved into our office early last year. It’s a reminder of the effort and passion our staff – and you our dedicated volunteers – put into pricing carbon each and everyday.
Our task is clear – talk to 1 million voters. Our timeline is plain – we have just under 5 months. Do we have the will? Do we have the stamina? You better believe it! Those of us working toward solutions to climate change today recognize that this issue is too great a threat to delay action any longer.
I-732 stands apart from the crowd in that it is a step to fight climate change now. That alone is enough of a reason to get me out of bed each and every morning. But I-732 is not just any climate policy:
- I-732 will be the most progressive shift in Washington State’s tax code in over 30 years!
- I-732 in the people’s initiative. For this first time in our nation’s history a state-wide price on carbon will be brought to the ballot by the people!
- I-732 will be the strongest price on carbon in America, period.
So let’s push as hard as we can for the next 5 months and show the nation the pathway to a better future. We need you with us. You can help right now. We’ll be featuring a list of suggestions each week – and we hope you will take on a large or small project to help the campaign each week between now and election day.
THIS WEEK’S TO DO LIST:
- WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITOR. Best results are generated when you tie your case for I-732 to current events)
- Sign up to CALL VOTERS from home!
- Doorbell your neighborhood (or join us at two major upcoming events: SEAFAIR and FREMONT SOLSTICE PARADE).
- Pledge to make 1,000 calls to voters between now and election day (about 15-20 hours – email [email protected] to get on our roster of super-callers and look for more on this soon!)
- Donate $, host a houseparty, or just email your friends and ask them to join you in giving to this cause.
Endorsements:
We have a few great new endorsements to add to our growing list of bipartisan supporters. You can find all of our endorsements on our website and if you don’t see your elected representative give them a call to ask them to support Climate Action in 2016!

Please join me in supporting this fiscally responsible pollution reduction policy and Vote Yes on I-732.”
Senator Litzow is the first sitting Republican legislator to endorse a broad reaching climate policy in our state, and one of the first in the Nation. This is a great testament to his willingness to lead, and the bipartisan appeal of I-732.

Statewide chapter strategy call.
Ready to get plugged in as a volunteer leader with the Yes on I-732? As we shift into full gear we are hosting a statewide strategy call with leaders across the state to review our field effort (including call training), local media strategies, and overall campaign strategy featuring Yoram and key staff members.
